If your point of entry to the music of Tegan and Sara was one of their last two albums (Heartthrob in 2013 and Love You To Death in 2016) or maybe even their awesome song on the soundtrack from The Lego Movie, you may be a bit surprised if you start digging into their older albums. Over the past five years, the duo seems to have embraced an electronic, dance-oriented sound.
But five years before Heartthrob, Tegan and Sara sounded quite different on their landmark indie-pop album, The Con. That 2007 album was both a commercial and critical success, bringing Tegan and Sara to the forefront of the alternative music scene.
In July 2017, Tegan and Sara announced that to mark the album’s tenth anniversary they would release The Con X: Covers, a collection of cover songs from the album. No details were offered at the time other than an October release date. “Be patient!” they said, regarding the artist lineup.
Today, our patience has paid off. The full track list has been announced, and the roster of artists is indeed impressive!

The Con X: Covers comes out October 20 on CD and digital. The vinyl version comes out December 22. Proceeds from album sales benefit the Tegan and Sara Foundation.
