Never mind politics or musical genre. Dixie Chicks put on one hell of a live show! On September 1, the trio are set to release their second live CD/DVD, a chronicle of their 2016 world tour entitled DCX MMXVI.
While the trio has reunited for concert tours twice in the past five years, it’s actually been more than ten years since we’ve seen a new studio album from the group. Their last set of new songs was Taking The Long Way, way back in 2006.
It could be that the Chicks are using the new live album to test the waters and prove their worth. After all, it seems unlikely that country radio is ready to make nice after their infamous 2003 comments about then President George W. Bush. They’ll certainly be counting on their crossover appeal to drive sales for any new release—live or otherwise.
Either way, the new live album is packed with hits sure to satisfy the millions of fans that didn’t abandon them. Here is the track list for the two CD set:
