For many music fans, Record Store Day has become an event not unlike Christmas. They wake up early to line up outside their favorite local record shop, excited to see what special gifts await them inside.
Of course, the primary focus of Record Store Day is, well, records I their most traditional format: vinyl. If you’re a CD listener or collector like me, you’ll find slim pickings. Still, I make a point of going each year to support my local record store. I just buy something in a format that isn’t quite as hip. And I don’t have to get there early, which is also a bonus.
