Yesterday, Pink Floyd announced the release of the individual box sets from last year’s mammoth The Early Years collection. Perhaps more exciting, though, is the tease we get today from former Pink Floyd songwriter/provocateur, Roger Waters.
It’s been known for a while that Waters was working on new music and was planning to put a new album out in 2017. It’s been 25 years since Roger Waters last released an album of new music. Amused To Death came out in 1992. He’s already announced a huge 2017 world tour that he promises will include a mix of Pink Floyd favorites, songs from Waters’ solo albums, and maybe a few new numbers as well.
Today, we get our first glimpse at what he’s been working on. Waters posted the following teaser video this morning, which includes less than a minute of music, along with animation of redacted text revealing the title of the record: Is This The Life We Really Want?
The new album from Roger Waters, “Is This The Life We Really Want?” coming soon.

There’s no release date, just the promise that the album is “coming soon.” Rumors have been hinting at May, though. I’ll be sure to post more details when they are announced.
