It’s been a while since Elvis Costello released a proper “rock” album. The last one was Momofuku back in 2008, which was also the last time he released an album with his band, The Imposters.
So naturally, when I heard his 2018 album, Look Now, would see him reuniting with his band, I assumed it would be a “rock” album. When I actually referred to it as such on Twitter, the man himself took issue with it.
Now that the album is finally here, I’ll happily concede Mr. Costello’s point. Look Now is more of a “pop” album… but pop from a bygone era. Check out my review for my take on his latest effort:
