The way Barenaked Ladies have been teasing their recording sessions for their next studio album on social media, it seemed like an official announcement was imminent. If their hashtag was to be believed, the effort would likely be called Fake Nudes. Oh, you clever Ladies!
So the album announcement that came today was actually a bit… unexpected. It turns out the band had another trick up their sleeves. While we wait for new material, we’ll be getting an album featuring some of their catalog material re-recorded with a cappella group, The Persuasions. Ladies And Gentlemen: Barenaked Ladies And The Persuasions finds the two groups “re-imagining” BNL favorites and recording them live in the studio.
